Meet HRM's Foster Dogs

DeeDee

4 1/2 yr. old bull terrier, spayed, UTD

deedee

She is a sweet dog looking for a loving home. She needs to be the only pet in the household as she does not do well with other animals. She would also be best in a household with no kids or older kids. She needs a strong owner and will only be adopted to someone who knows the breed. She needs to have set boundaries and not given the run of the house. If you think she may be the dog for you please contact us to come out and meet her!

Proof

3 1/2 yr. old, pit bull, spayed, UTD

proof

Proof is a sweet, loving, wonderful girl who is full of life and energy. She gets along well with other dogs, but does tend to be the dominate dog. She loves her ball and is currently working on some manners with our trainer. She knows all her basics and walks well on a leash. She would be great in any environment except with cats. She loves kids and is a gentle girl. All of us would love to take her home, but we are at our max animal wise or we have cats. If you have it in your heart to give her a home she will be your best friend. She is staying at Holly Ridge Manor until a permanent home can be found!

Daddy

12 yrs. old, chow mix, neutered, UTD

daddy

Daddy... what can I say about him besides he is just the best dog in the world. He shares a room with Ms. Harriet out here at Holly Ridge Manor so they can keep each other company until they find permanent homes. He was a rescue from Katrina and we have had him for some time now. He did finally get a home on a farm for about 6 months, then the owner got cancer and could no longer care from him, so he brought him back to us. He is great in a house, doesn't have accidents and doesn't need crated. The only thing he doesn't do well with is cats. Come meet him, you may have the best companion you could ever ask for. As of current, he has no known health issues, joints are even good! He is not on any supplements besides flea/heartworm meds and eats dry food twice a day.

Harriet

Harriet Harriet

Meet Harriet

She is a happy fun playful puppy (well she is 2) who loves others and just wants to have fun.

Her mom gave her up to us because she wouldn't stop regurgitating her food and she didn’t want to deal with it.  We took her to the vet after trying multiple things to try and figure it out and it turns out she has a condition called MegaEsophagus.  This is a manageable condition with medications and having her held vertically to eat her food as she relies on gravity to move the food to her stomach; she does not have the muscles around her esophagus to do this for her.  She does need more frequent smaller meals every 3 hours during the day to get enough nutrients into her, so a stay at home mom or dad would be wonderful for her! She is about 2 years old, up to date on vaccines, spayed, good with dogs of all sizes, cats and kids and is still very puppy! If you know of anyone willing to take her on she is available to meet possible adopters anytime!  So if you have room in your heart for her come out and meet her!  She is up to date on all her shots and is ready to go!!!

Happy Adoption "Tails"

Astro

"Let me tell you about my best friend. He is wastroithout a doubt the best dog I have ever had in my life and I truly thank you. My whole family wants him I have to fight them off from asking me to give them Astro. He is my best friend I have some wonderful pictures will try to get them to you. He is also my first mate when I take my boat out he absolutely loves fish….unlike cats. We did have a little scare though last early fall . He broke from his leash (in my hand ) took off after a cat and a car hit him. He got up after being hit and continued to chase cat. When I found him he was bleeding at the mouth I thought he had internal bleeding took him to the emergency vet. $600.00. Later we found out that he bit his tongue. All was ok. I don't underestimate his hate for the feline persuasion. He is very healthy and strong. And I thank you for bringing someone to my life.

I just need some help with this cat thing (smile) had him in NC at my mom's house and he saw a cat …took the whole glass screen door down …do hear what I'm saying but that's my boy! Wouldn't have it no other way. He has also taken to the water wonderfully know can't get him out of it keeps looking for fish. That's his new "pet peeve" no pun intended. My whole family wants to take him home with them every time they come to visit. Once again thank you for the bestest friend I have ever had!"

Rocco

"Dear Casie,

I got your message today and I wanted to pass along these photos. As you know, Rocco (or Rocky, Rock Star, or Rock Ness Monster, as we call him!) has found his forever home with our family. We love him so much! He went to the vet the other day and officially weighs in at 60 pounds! He is a big, beautiful, fluffy boy who is full of love, intelligence, and loyalty. He absolutely loves Ryan's sister, Elissa, and sleeps in her room every night, sometimes on the bed, hugging a pillow! He just lives for someone to tell him that he is a good boy and throw him a frisbee.

He and his Aussie sister, Echo, have adjusted to each other nicely. She has such a strong personality and he pretty much just defers to her to keep the peace. He is a very good watch dog and we know that he will alert us to anything that seems remotely amiss! He and Echo make a good pair!

While it is difficult to imagine the circumstances where someone would have to give up a dog, we are sincerely thankful that you were there to take Rocco in. He is just a love of a dog! I have never adopted an older dog before (Rocco was turning five when we got him), but it has been a terrific experience! Thank you SO much!

Take care and I hope we get to see you soon! You will be seeing Echo and Rocco soon! Bye! --Michele Cleland
